View of Mass Central RR, Oakdale, half mile west of trail entrance near granite mile marker.
Site is a dam on the Quinapoxet River where water was diverted  to the Whiting Mill.The trestle was later
 removed and a concrete culvert was built and the road bed filled in.

Whiting Mill next to rail trail in Oakdale, 1/2 mile west of trail entrance near mile marker.
Water was diverted to east side of the rail trail from the Quinapoxet River and then under railroad bed to the
 mill. The trench can still be seen from rail trail where it led to the lower part of building in the photo.

Scene is about the location of the Rt. 140 causeway over the
 Wachusett Reservoir just south of the Old Stone Church.
