Wachusett Greenway celebrated a year of great accomplishments this past June at our 2024 Annual Gathering. Members were able to connect with each other over a picnic style dinner and listened while the board gave a summary of this past year. Highlights included introducing our new employee, Scarlett Strom, who is a rising junior at WPI. This summer she will work on charting/creating a new trail map, social media, and trail maintenance. We thanked Chris Ryan for his years as a WG board member and welcomed Chuck Snow as a new board member. Wachusett Greenways began the replacement of the collapsed original railroad culvert near Miles Road.  The Pommogussett Mural began with leadership by Margaret McCandless.  Two Troop 182 scouts completed their Eagle projects.  Aiden Golden planted native trees, grasses and flowers at  the new Mill Street to Princeton Street, Holden trail section and installed an accessible  picnic table near the River St., Jeremiah Kaplan bridge.  Harrison Pierce installed new split rail fence at the Charlotte Kaplan bridge and repaired split rail fence at West Boylston entrance. We concluded with dessert and some photos. We are extremely grateful for everyone’s time, patience, and support with our ongoing projects.
